Every club in your bag has a special job! Let's learn what each one does and when to use it.

💡 Understanding Your Bag

A full set of golf clubs can have up to 14 clubs, but you don't need all of them when starting out! Most young golfers begin with a half-set (7-8 clubs) which includes:

Driver or 3-Wood
A few irons (like 5, 7, 9)
Wedges & Putter
🏌️
Driver
200-300 yards

What it does:

Your longest club! Use it on the tee box to hit the ball as far as possible down the fairway.

🌳
Fairway Wood (3-Wood, 5-Wood)
150-250 yards

What it does:

Great for long shots from the fairway or tee. Easier to control than a driver.

⚡
Hybrids
130-200 yards

What it does:

A mix between a wood and an iron - very forgiving and easy to hit!

🔧
Irons (3-9)
100-180 yards (varies by number)

What it does:

Your precision clubs! Lower numbers (3-4) go further, higher numbers (8-9) go higher and shorter.

📐
Pitching Wedge
80-120 yards

What it does:

For shorter approach shots with a high, soft landing.

🏖️
Sand Wedge
60-90 yards

What it does:

Your escape artist! Perfect for bunkers and high, soft shots around the green.

🎯
Putter
On the green

What it does:

The most important club! Used on the putting green to roll the ball into the hole.

Next Step: The Perfect Grip!

Now that you know what each club does, the most important next step is learning how to hold them correctly. Your grip is everything!

🌟 Pro Tip for Beginners

Don't worry about hitting the ball far at first! Focus on making good contact and hitting straight. Distance will come naturally as you practice and get stronger. Remember: Even pros started as beginners! The most important thing is to have fun and keep practicing. 🎉
